The mall admin is looking for tenants that will complement its existing portfolio and provide a diverse and balanced mix of options for its mall patrons. Parqal is a five-hectare, pedestrian-oriented mixed-use development situated along the central spine of Aseana City in Parañaque, positioned between Diosdado Macapagal Boulevard and J.W. Diokno Boulevard. Developed by D.M. Wenceslao and Associates, Inc. (DMWAI) under Aseana Holdings, its name is a portmanteau of park and kalye (the Filipino word for street), reflecting its core concept as a continuous, linear green corridor.
Design and Architecture
Designed in collaboration with international architecture firm Aedas and local firm Visionarch, Parqal reinterprets traditional Filipino architecture:
* Modernized Bahay na Bato: The facade references Hispanic-Filipino vernacular architecture, blending the warmth of timber-style finishes, textured stone, steel accents, and generous fenestration.
* The ETFE Floating Canopy: A 16,800-square-meter canopy made of Ethylene Tetrafluoroethylene (ETFE) spans the entire 650-meter length of the complex. The lightweight membrane deflects tropical heat and blocks rain while permitting natural daylight to filter through, fostering lush indoor-outdoor landscaping and natural cross-ventilation.
* Civic Plazas and Walkability: Nine low-rise, four-story buildings are linked via climate-protected walkways, bridges, and Andalusian-style courtyards spaced at five-minute walking intervals to prioritize pedestrian flow over vehicle traffic.
Zoning and Lifestyle Ecosystem
Parqal features roughly 80,000 square meters of gross floor area structured across a dual-tier framework:
* Ground and Second Floors: Dedicated to vibrant retail formats, specialty boutiques, wellness studios, convenience retail, and dining options ranging from cafes to full-service restaurants.
* Upper Levels: House mid-rise corporate offices and commercial headquarters with direct connectivity to Aseana City’s business ecosystem.
* Public & Active Spaces: An outdoor amphitheater, wide promenades, and dedicated open lawns host regular community activations, including running clubs, weekend fitness sessions, pop-up markets, and cultural exhibitions.

Parqal holds a 5-Star BERDE (Building for Ecologically Responsive Design Excellence) certification from the Philippine Green Building Council, driven by its passive cooling, high-efficiency variable refrigerant flow (VRF) systems, and water retention planning. Its distinct architectural profile earned global recognition in the prestigious Prix Versailles list for the World’s Most Beautiful Emporiums, establishing it as one of the Manila Bay Area's architectural centerpieces.
